Bredene, Belgium (Oostende, Le Coq)

Report by Beachcomber - Photos by Dirk and Didier I recently visited the new official Belgian nude beach located at Bredene near Oostende (two kilometers). The beach is located one hundred meters from the road and is accessible via a pathway suitable for wheelchairs. At the entrance of the beach on the textile part, there is a lifeguard station number 6 and a toilet and shower which are open in July and August. The nude beach is located north of the entrance. Turn right as you face the beach. The beach is sandy with dunes. You undress where you first see nudists.

Directions: You can reach the beach by public transport system namely the tramway from Oostende railway station to Knokke which stops at Bredene Renbaan located in front of the entrance. If you visit by car, you take the main road from Oostende to Knokke (Koninklijke Baan) and you park the car alongside the road in vicinity of Bredene Renbaan railway station. History/Status: Established in 2001 Environment:Sandy, windy beach with dunes. Facilities: Washrooms and showers on the beach in the summer. Pubs, restaurants and shops are located approximately one kilometer from the beach in each direction. Parking: Close by and free with two places for the disabled. Accommodation: (Unknown)
